Mold Inspection

Mold Inspection

Mold inspections are not bad, actually if you think you have a mold problem then then don't hesitate to get your home inspected. I say that because some molds are very toxic and can cause some serious health problems. If you have ever walked into a house and went from feeling fine to having a sinus headache or feeling achy then you know what I
mean.

Can You Do It Yourself? Should you check with a local mold inspection company.

Now you might think that you can just take care of your mold problem yourself. Yes you can if you know what you are doing because mold spores spread very easily. Plus you will need to know where to look to find the mold problem and what chemicals are safe and what ones are harmful. If you do find the mold you will also need to be able to identify the cause of getting it.

If you tried to do it yourself here are just a few things you need to know:
  • You will need to know how to find the mold and know where to look like in the walls, attic, insulation, ventilation system, carpet, drywall, drains, etc...
  • You need to know what safety gear you will need like disposable clothing, mask, gloves, etc...
  • You will need to no how to seal off the effected room after you find the problem to keep it from spreading this includes ventilation system, seal off doorways, maybe even a changing area.
Now this is just a few of the things you might have to do if you planed on doing mold removal yourself.

Yes mold removal cost, however its better to have the job done right.

So how do you find a company that does mold inspection that is reputable?

Personally, I would not get a free mold inspection. It cost money to check the air quality in the house and to have mold test done by laboratories. I have read stories that some companies that offer free inspections have used scare tactics or made up false reports to get you to spend a lot of money on a problem you might not even have. So, always ask questions, like who does your lab work or mold test. Ask if they are registered with the BBB. After you get your test results back and you know if you have a problem. Then you can get free mold removal estimates. So, you can get quotes to remove it just like you would for any other work you would have done on your home.

Like I said mold in the home can cause some serious health problems so if you think you have it deal with it fast.

  2. I don't see anything wrong with having your home being inspected because of
    mold
. It would be a lot troublesome if people on a house be sick because of it so it's better to take action as early as possible.

  3. Yes, It is important that we inspect and detect mold growth in our homes. Molds can be easily detected through discoloration and smell. The discoloration that is caused by mold may be of any color, but remember that not all discoloration is mold growth. It may be spoiled or soot.

  4. Hi Buddy,

These are great tips and I have to say that most people don’t even know about mold.

Thanx for sharing such a nice information with us. And we all know that it's necessary to perform inspection of your home in a gap of 1 month as this will help in identifying the issues in your home.

I will surely suggest these tips to my wife in order to clean mildew in bathroom. We are preparing for the annual deep cleaning and we want to make a very thorough list of the places we usually forget to clean because this year we want to clean the whole house.

I am currently working as a senior member in environmental consultancy and I know that it's necessary to clean the home on daily basis.
