What is Black Mold? Black mold also know as Stachybotrys Mold or Toxic Black Mold. Black mold in the home can cause serious health risk and should be taken very seriously. This type of mold can almost grow any place and all that is needed is moisture or even high humidity to grow.



Almost every home has some type of mold growing and not all molds are dangerous or toxic. With that said, I recommend you don't take chances and always have a mold test done if you think you have a mold problem.

The most infamous species, S. chartarum (also known as S. atra) and S. chlorohalonata are known as "black mold" or "toxic black mold" in the USA and are frequently associated with poor indoor air quality that arises after fungal growth on water-damaged building materials.
